Been on the phone with the mechanic and we decided pretty much the same. He informed me that it wasn't quite as simple as tearing it down, replacing some rings, berrings and the crankshaft, that they would have to have it sent to a machine show who would more than likely say it needed to be bored and then new pistons etc. etc. So yeah, I really appreciate your input, helped me a lot having another Z owner tell me it should probably be okay to make my decision. And thanks! its still a little bit early and difficult to get excited about the unexpected arrival, but it seems like having a young one around indeed may turn out to be a blessing.
